‘Cause I don’t have a wooden heart…

So powerful in their simplicity: these hearts made of weathered wood show the full beauty of the wood grain. This is how old wooden boards become a spectacular eyecatcher. True art made by man and mother nature.
This collaboration between man and mother nature conjures up images of the sea, coastal towns, and sandy beaches. Maybe it brings back memories of a lovely day spent together at the beach? An experience worth repeating! The driftwood and lantern stuffed with shells makes a gorgeous combination. Shells you gathered together on that lovely day?

Get inspired by the beautiful weather on your beach walk. Create this lovely wooden heart depicting a mighty crashing wave with a white crest, set against a rising or setting sun. A day to remember forever.
What do you need to build your own wooden heart?
We decided to create the wooden heart you see in the banner at the top of this page. Do do this, we gathered some pieces of tree trunk and branches that we had already sawn before the winter. You can use weathered wood, both with and without bark, in various wood tones and from different tree species. You’ll need to pre-cut the wood into small slices using a chainsaw.
The wood pieces vary in diameter, but they’re never larger than 25 cm, so you can use a chainsaw with a cutting length of up to 35 cm. Opt for a battery-powered model, so you don't have to worry about power cords. Plus, it’s quieter, doesn’t produce exhaust fumes, and requires less maintenance.

Next, you'll need a jigsaw to cut a heart shape from MDF board. To make it easier on yourself, use a saw with adjustable speed settings to control the cutting speed. Cutting wood requires a high speed. Also, choose a jigsaw with multiple pendulum settings, dust extraction, and laser guidance. This way, you’ll cut quickly, smoothly, and precisely.
Cut out any shape with our jigsaws
Don’t want to risk your jigsaw cord getting caught or tangled in your work? Choose a Dual Power jigsaw, perfect for this project and no cord, because it’s battery-powered.
Time to show your loved ones how much they mean to you!
Now that you have all your power tools at the ready, it’s time to make your own decorative wooden heart, following the model we created. Don’t worry, it’s much easier than it sounds. In just a few simple steps, you’ll be able to give your heart away!
